January 2016

Happy New Year to everyone!  A New Year is always a time of reflection, setting goals and making changes.  I’m usually too busy dealing with year-end, taxes and the lovely weather Wisconsin makes us deal with to worry too much about that.  But the last 4 months have been a little difficult for me and I was doing just those things right before Christmas.  So maybe my “goal” of being more organized and doing less procrastination will last longer than January this year!!

During 2016, WTRAA is celebrating 35 years!  How exciting!!  I look back and see how far WTRAA has come in just the 10 years I have been involved and it blows my mind to think what 35 years would be like.  We are so blessed to still have 3 founding members as a part of our membership!  Georgia Bullock, Barbara Tomlinson and Judy Stepp- imagine the wealth of knowledge these ladies have!  What I wouldn’t give to sit down with them for a few hours and chat WTRAA!!

2016 Membership Dues have been sent out.  If you haven’t received anything, please let me know and I can check to see if your dues are current.  Just shoot me an email.  Our membership has really grown over the last couple of years.  I am so blessed to have been a part of it.  As we grow, so does our strength as an association.  The best part is connecting with women all across the world.  I want WTRAA to grow with you and give you the tools and help you need in this industry.  If there is ever anything you would like to see happening, please let me know!

Lots of events happening here at WTRAA!!  Hope you are all coming to visit us down in Florida for our Spring Meeting on April 5th.  There are so many things you can do while you are in Orlando, Florida.  Disney is the obvious one but there is so much more all within an hour of Orlando!  Check out the agenda in this newsletter for meeting information.

You will also find the Tow Women of the Year nomination form in this newsletter.  This award is WTRAA’s highest honor.  Please take some time and consider sending in a nomination.  She will be awarded at our Annual Spring Meeting.  Hope you are able to be there!

Do you have children or grandchildren heading off to college??  I recommend printing off the WTRAA Scholarship application and applying.  You can do this for each year they are attending college.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Did you know that 2017 will be an election year for WTRAA??  Have you considered running for a board position?  I hope that each of you will consider it and please give me a call or shoot me an email if you have any questions about it.  I love talking WTRAA!!  See attached duties at the end of my letter.

With an election year approaching, we will need 4 ladies to serve on the Nominating Committee.  I will be asking individuals to help serve.  You are able to work on this committee via email/phone.  And it doesn’t take a lot of time to do.  If you think this is something you would be willing to do, please email me!  I’d be happy to let you know what it all entails!

Don’t forget to start making your travels plans for Florida soon!  As long as you are making plans, please add our Fall Board Meeting into your calendar.  This meeting always takes place during the Tennessee Tow Show and ITRHFM events (September 8-10).  It’s always a beautiful time of year down there!  Wishing you all safe travels- where ever they make take you!!

It’s all about the “W”!!
